Challange
Gobal Tradcrackers Ltd. is a leading internet based financial education company. GTL wanted to launch a financial simulation website that would provide a real live simulation experience to its subscribers. This simulation will be based on live market feeds coming from the exchanges such as the National Stock Exchange (NSE) , NCDEX and MCX. In addition to this GTL wanted their servers to be hosted in a secure location with an uptime of 99.6%.
Solution
We first understood the requirements of GTL since this kind of live simulation was a first of its kind in India . We worked with the technical teams of the NSE, NCDEX and MCX to integrate their live feeds into a trading platform. This trading platform was capable of executing trades, providing portfolio tracking and live market information to a user. Since it was a web based application, the end users required no additional software to be installed. RDPL also coordinated with GTL for selecting the appropriate data warehousing company and installing the servers.
Benefit
The financial simulation software (tradecracker.com) has proved to be a great success. MBA institutes such as IIM-A, IMI etc. have incorporated it into their curriculum. In addition to this being a web based application the scalability is huge. GTL has been able to offer a great platform for brokerage houses, financial institutions and educational institutes for their training needs and in turn generate additional revenue at little incremental cost.
