Challange
Quorum Services is a building inspection company. It has an online system of receiving inspection requests and tracking the inspections and posting status which makes their optertions effective as well as effecient. They wanted all their clients to use this system. This was proving to be a challange as most of the clients where not very internet savvy.
Solution
For Quorum to be able to sell the idea of using the online service RDPL realised it had to make things very simple. So RDPL designed an offline self running demo of the actual site. The demo had the same look and feel of the actual site with the demo telling the viewer what steps to follow for each of its screens. We added a help tab to the demo so that the viewer could refer to it at any point during the demo.
Benefit
The offline demo served its purpose to lowering resistance to using the online service. Quorum Services has seen a two fold increase in their online membership. Most ofthe members have kept their copy of the demo to use as a User's Guide. The demo served one additional purpose - Quorum Services was able to use it for their marketing presentations and show all the site's features without having to reveal sensitive information of any of their members.
